Abby Ortiz is an Oboist from Emerald Isle, North Carolina. Abby is currently a senior at East Carolina University, studying music therapy and oboe performance. Abby has played with the ECU Symphony Orchestra and ECU Symphonic Wind Ensemble. She enjoys playing chamber music and is a founding member of the Amethyst Reed Trio and Iris Woodwind Quintet.
She has worked as an undergraduate research assistant for the Listen, Breathe, Move Research Initiative which supports care partners and other vulnerable populations through music therapy and mindful movement. Abby has served as the lead music therapy interventionist since 2024. During her time at ECU, she has been an active member of the Music Therapy Organization and is currently serving as the secretary. She enjoys playing throughout the community and expanding access to classical music for underprivileged communities.
In her free time, Abby enjoys going on hikes, surfing, and Crossfit. She also enjoys cooking and spending time with her family.
Grayson Lehmer is a clarinetist from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. He is currently a senior clarinet performance major at East Carolina University. Grayson has played with the ECU Symphony Orchestra and ECU Symphonic Wind Ensemble. During his time at ECU, he found his passion for chamber music. He is a founding member of the Iris Quintet, and the Amethyst Reed Trio and the current social media manager.
Grayson enjoys providing chamber music for underprivileged communities and hopes to continue doing so. Grayson also values educational outreach as a tool to educate children on classical music. Grayson is currently a member of the International Clarinet Association. He is also an active arts administrator; he holds the internship position for The Four Seasons Chamber Music Festival.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, going on walks on the beach, and enjoying films and television.

Abigail Scanlan is a bassoonist from Greenville, North Carolina. She is currently in her first year as a bassoon performance graduate student at East Carolina University. Abigail is participating in both the Symphonic Wind Ensemble and the ECU Symphony Orchestra. She completed her bachelor's in music performance at Western Carolina University in 2024. During her time at WCU, she developed a passion for chamber music and music theory. She is a founding member of the 373 Trio and the Amethyst Reed Trio.
Abigail has recently found a passion for education. She is a co-lead tutor of music theory at ECU, teaches color guard at a local high school, and teaches private lessons in bassoon and piano. She also thoroughly enjoys exposing people to classical music who would not otherwise hear it, including underfunded school systems and underprivileged communities.
Outside of her musical aspirations, Abigail enjoys spending time with her family, her two cats, Carl and Biscuit, and her friends. She also likes to play video games, watch movies, and attend live theater.
